WHAT SKILLS DO I NEED TO GET STARTED? |
Lessons start from scratch regardless of your water or board experience. Forming good habits is key to safety. You'll need to feel comfortable in the water and be motivated, maybe even a little resilient.
|
HOW FIT DO I NEED TO BE? |
You don’t need to be super fit to kiteboard. And the kit is lightweight, so you don’t need lots of muscle strength either. However, a general level of fitness will help you progress faster, give you more stamina on the water and help you avoid injuries. It's a good idea if you can swim and feel comfortable in the water too.
|
DO I REALLY NEED LESSONS? |
Yes. As well as getting you up and riding as soon as possible, we'll make sure you have the essential safety know-how and procedures. Without this knowledge you are a danger to yourself and everyone else on the water and beach.
|
WHAT DO I NEED FOR LESSONS? |
We have a range of different kites, boards and safety equipment to suit you in a full range of different wind conditions. Come with a hat, sunglasses with strap and some sunscreen and boom - you're ready to go.
|
HOW MANY LESSONS DO I NEED UNTIL I'M UP AND RIDING? |
Most people need around 10-12 hours, or a course of three sessions to get up and riding. Some need more - or if a student has prior board experience , plus the coaching, you could potentially be riding upwind in a single day.
|
WHAT ARE THE CHALLENGES I'LL FACE AS A BEGINNER? |
Building your confidence and trusting your equipment is the first hurdle for many. Being strapped to a kite can feel scary at first, but we'll help you relax and show you just how safe the kiting equipment is, provided you use it right. Some people take a long time simply building up the confidence to get started.
